   Oracle Manufacturing Operations Center

Oracle Manufacturing Operation Center provides the pre-built metrics and dashboards you need to gain visibility into your shop floor activities, analyze and improve plant throughput, and monitor equipment efficiency.

MOC requires Oracle Warehouse Builder (OWB) 10.2.0.4 and OBIEE 10.1.3.4. It uses OWB as an ETL tool to extract data from source systems. MOC comes with EBS process manufacturing integration and enhanced EBS discrete manufacturing integration.

Benefits:

  • Real-time shop floor intelligence for plant managers
  • Analyze production loss
  • Improve overall equipment efficiency (OEE)
  • Eliminate discrepancy between manual and machine data
  • Achieve improved visibility for Lean and Six-Sigma programs

Components:

  1. Contextualization Engine - The system collects high-resolution data from the shop floor and adds meaningful business context from the ERP, such as work order, routing operation, shift, work day, customer order, dates, etc. In addition, the contextualized transactional data can be synchronized with the ERP thereby eliminating manual data entry.
  2. Manufacturing Operations Data Model - This data model leverages business object definitions and other constructs from the ISA-95 reference model. Many production environments can be modelled to leverage the Extensible Attribute Framework. The cleansed and processed data from the various sources is collected and stored in this transactional data model.
  3. Manufacturing Equipment Interface - Supports Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Systems (SCADA) and Distributed Control Systems (DCS). You can also leverage Oracle Fusion Middleware components like ESB, BPEL and OWB.
  4. Pre-built Analytical Dashboards - Track KPIs such as Production Throughput, Equipment Availability, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and Production Cycle Times. Drill down to detailed equipment and production order data or perform root cause analysis. This is built on the OBIEE platform that supports personalization and extension of interactive dashboards and reports.

Supports Plant Manager Queries:

  1. What types of production losses contributed to overall equipment effectiveness?
  2. Which departments, resources, and equipment are underperforming?
  3. Are the production resources being utilized effectively and on target for the shift, day, week or month?
  4. Are the products of acceptable quality standards?
  5. What is the cycle time trend for standard batches?
  6. Is customer fulfillment at the desired level of customer service?
    and many more...
