1. Oracle BI Dashboard is a presentation layer tool integrated with BI Answers which allows users to perform Ad-hoc analysis and report against the business model.

In Answers, each report request contains a single query, and each query uses one or more views that are combined in a compound view. The compound view is generally displayed in a dashboard.

Answers contains helpful components such as Tables, Crosstabs, Graphs, Gauges, View and Column Selectors and Narratives. It allows us to publish to Oracle BI Interactive Dashboards
2. Oracle BI Interactive Dashboards is a part of Oracle BI Presentation Services. The OBIEE Server comprises of:
- Presentation Layer - presenting user views
- Semantic Object Layer - business model
- Physical Layer - mapping physical data
3. Interactive Dashboards are integrated with BI Publisher - which means that you can get Pixel-perfect reports ready for viewing/printing by users, all with the push of a button from the Dashboard.
4. Oracle Portal users will find BI interactive Dashboards familiar - just as in Portal, Interactive Dashboards has the equivalent portlets, web clippings and interactivity.
5. Dashboard Interactivity - Let us assume the dashboard user is not interested in seeing all the data in the dashboard. The dashboard designer can then add prompts to the dashboard that allows user to enter what he wants to see. Dashboards can also be designed for users to select from Drop-down lists, multi-select boxes and selection of columns to display in the reports.
6. Dashboard Alerts - You can set up an alert to a sales person that comes up on the Interactive Dashboard whenever his Projected Sales is going to be below forecast. A useful link here would be to the list of all his ongoing deals so that he can work on accelerating his deals to meet his stated goals. |
